Hi all,

My husband just received his passport back in the mail along with his confirmation of pr form. However, when looking at the form, under personal details it lists my husbands marital status as single.

Is this a mistake or is this normal?

Not normal, but it's not a big deal. They can correct any mistakes on the COPR at landing. You would need to get it revised beforehand if there was a mistake in something like his name, but other corrections can be done at the time of landing. Just let them know and they can strike it out and fix it when the COPR is signed

I find it strange that on the form under sponsor details it lists me as his spouse but then under his martial status it lists him as single. On his passport request form it states that if name or date of birth are incorrect he must request a new form, it does not say anything about marital status.

Mistakes on the COPR are relatively common... people post all the time about weird stuff like the height, eye color, etc. being messed up. No biggie for them to just correct it at landing. Their data entry people must need better coffee in the office. ;)

I called the Canadian border agency and they say it could be a red flag to the border officer at Vancouver airport. I’m now calling immigration to see what they say

Immigration said that it’s fine as long as we fill out an amandment request form once my spouse settles. They should not give us any problems at the airport, the immigration officer may even be able to change the information himself.
