confirmation of permanent residence letter confused????

hi,
we got this letter sept. 24 2015 together with letter.
on the CoPR letter it says that the visa is valid to the 2016/08/18
and in the letter which came along, says we have to arrive on or before 2016/06/18
is this common or maybe a typing mistake? anybody know?

That's totally normal. You show the COPR at the border when you arrive, and this will activate your status as a permanent resident. The letter has an expiry date that's usually linked to being 1 year after the date that you did your medical exam. If you don't land before the letter expires, you have to start the whole process all over again (so make sure not to miss it)!

To avoid complication please, arrive Canada before June 28th 2016 as specify in the letter. After you have regularized your papers and you are admitted as PR. You may decide to return to your home country to tidy up things.
