You guys (Concordia and McGill ones) can try for Hostelling International Youth Hostel for Temprary Logement : www.hostellingmontreal.com
Here is another link for more hostels in Montreal : http://www.hostelworld.com/hostels/Montreal/Canada/Map If you can afford it, try for some low cost hotels too but Hostels are best IMO. HI Montreal has a starter package for newcomers for $299 for a week with some things live a travel card, breakfast, internet access and a calling card of $10 credit included with a 6 bed shared dorm. You can also search for other BnB offerings on the web which fit your bill.

Temporary or permanent? For Permanent, you can try out padmapper.com and search availability Montreal map.

When do you guys plan to leave for montreal? Also, should I be worried at all about the CBSA officers at montreal airport? I have the letter of introduction from delhi but my case is a little complicated and they can notice it straight away. I'm guessing that if delhi cleared me, I should have no problems?

Basically my CAQ was given for Sept intake, been valid since AUG 31. Also they are going to ask to see my offer letter. My letter states that I was admitted for Sept intake, withdrew and got readmitted for Winter. I explained to CHC delhi that I had an accident so never applyed for permit back then.

Should I be worried about port of entry officers if delhi cleared me?

oh i dont think that would be a problem as long of all the docs are valid ur fine.....u have a valid reason for which u differed ur admission...normally they will ask u the purpose of ur visit how long u intend to stay etc take ur fingerprints scan ur visa/passport
