Hi - experts please comment, this will be useful to many on this forum who are preparing for PR renewals.

What are the conclusive proof of residence in Canada for a 'home maker' as acceptable by CIC?

Also what are not conclusive proof?

Thanks in advance.

As outlined in the guide, applicants for PR renewal would have to provide their income tax evidence for the last 5 years. As a homemaker, they may still able to file taxes even with a zero income tax return.

Anything that requires your presence in Canada is good. For example, I donate blood to Canadian Blood Services every two months. They keep detailed records of your donations and so it would be pretty good proof that I am in Canada at least every two months. Also medical records like if you are getting treatment and so forth. Any activity that requires your physical presence in Canada and where they actually check your identity.

Some people say show credit card statements of you using your card in Canada. But that is not good proof because really anyone can use your card.

I'm a homemaker. 800 days as on feb 10th. Pr card expires end June 2014. Applied for pr renewal on feb 10th for 2 kids and myself. Received on 13th feb. Yet to hear from cic, website says no record found. Documents included to prove my residency were passport copies and a note detailing my travel history along with references to entry/exit stamps on the passport. Is that sufficient proof?
