Hello senior members,
I have my cousin who is a Computer Engineer - Bachelors from India and Masters from US.
Completed beyond one year on H1b and currently working as a Computer Engineer
He is not at a Manager level and also no job offers from Canada

Do you think he qualifies under Alberta or Quebec or BC Provincial Nomination?

Any leads are appreciated!!

Karl

I am not sure of the current NOC codes for AB PNP for H1's, but I think he would qualify. The caveat is - the process has slowed down tremendously with the flood of applications and the current economic situation. However, if he is looking for a long term, Plan B type of solution, this might be it.

I believe under AINP or any PNPs.. Computer engineers / analysts are currently not under Occupations under pressure. Because, the provinces got flooded with applications when it was initially open.

Not sure, its been a long time for me and I remember they had removed these NOC codes on May 19th 2009.

However, having a job offer will help under FSW.

This is just my thoughts and what I remember. Please do your own research

Hi Nomad,
I have been active on the forum and do remember that Computer Engineering was taken off the list sometime in 2009 from the AINP list. But just assumed things might have changed and just thought of asking if anyone knew of any other provinces requiring Computer Engineers. But thanks for the input.

Hi Rezendgi,
Thanks for the FSW suggestion. I will try to find out if one qualifies even if the occupation in not under pressure list.

I see that you are quite active on the AINP thread - so you ought to know all the details of it.

Hi,

I think you might want to check the Quebec stream. If you have enough points, you might qualify. Hope this helps.
