Hello friends,
I have been a silent observer of this forum and have learned a lot from your posts. However, I'm seeking expert opinion regarding my case as it is quite complicated.
I am an applicant from Sri Lanka. I applied to Seneca College for Fall 2012 for PG certificate in financial services practitioner (2 semesters/1 year program with internship) and got admission. I applied for visa on the 19th of July but I havent received any medical calls as yet.
My profile -
2004 GCE O/L 5A's, 1B and 2C's
Joined American National College in Sri Lanka and studied 2 years of the American engineering program and transferred to USA in 2007 to do a bachelors in ME. As it was my first experience away from home, I didnt do well in studies as I found it hard to get on with life all by myself. I had to undergo a surgery in 2009 and since it was so expensive in USA, I had to come back to Sri Lanka in 2009 discontinuing my degree. It took me 7 months to recover and thus, I could not go back to USA. Nevertheless, I continued my American degree in business in Sri Lanka and graduated in 2011. I have since been working in my family business and am a director of our well established business. Due to a suggestion by a friend (he said I have a strong profile and have more than 67 points that you need to qualify for PR), I applied for Canadian PR under FSW in Jan 2012 and was refused due to my intelligibility.
Because I loved Canada so much, I didnt want to give up and so I hired a consultant based in Canada and applied for study permit with his assistance. He said that I have a bright chance of getting the study permit as I have a good travel history, family ties and etc. I even got admission from 4 Australian universities for Masters in Professional Accounting and MBA but I have given Canada the first preference.
My IELTS scores - General overall bands 8.5/Academic overall bands 7.5 with no band less than 6.0
Submitted a net worth assessment of my father, deposited approx $25,000 in my savings account to prove that I have sufficient funds for studies in Canada. I have submitted all documents relating to my business, bank statements, investment portfolios and etc.
My parents have visited Canada twice and been to all developed nations, hence I forwarded their passports as well to support my case.
What do you guys think of my chances? I'm quite worried but still I'm trying to be optimistic as I have not misrepresented any information.
