Hello, this question is with regards to common-law sponsorship.

I am a Filipino citizen with permanent residence in Canada and I would want to sponsor my girlfriend (Korean) who lives with me here in Canada.

I am just confused as to which country-specific forms I should be submitting together with my application-- more particularly if there are any Philippine-issued documents that I have to submit. Are country-specific documents only required for the principal applicant or does it also apply to the sponsor?

Thank you.

Have you lived together for over 1 contiguous year? Are you compliant with your RO? What is her status? Have you indicated in forms, for eg. taxes, that you are common law?

They are required for ANY document you submit for either the principal applicant or sponsor. Here's what you need to do:

1- Refer to your checklist to find out which documents you need to submit.

2- Make a list of all the countries you will get the documents from

3- In the country specific requirements page for spousal sponsorship; Choose the countries you will get these documents from.

Note: If you will need documents from more countries than the tool allows you to add, please start the tool again.
