Hello Everyone,
I have a hard time to decide which route I should go to apply for PR.
I am an international student doing my PhD in chemical engineering in one of the Ontario Universities.
I have been living with my Canadian boyfriend for more than a year and we count to be common law partner according to the federal definition of common law partnership.
I am wondering which way is the better and easier way to take to apply for PR.
My EE points for express entry system is something between 370-450 (depend on the Ielts score I get). Currently the minimum points to be invited to apply for PR under express entry is reported to be 480+. So I don't have a chance now, but it is predicted that the minimum point may drop in near future and then I may have a chance (maybe in the next couple of months). Not sure though.
The other possible route to apply in that my boyfriend sponsors me as his common law partner, the process for this route is about 10-12 months. The problem with this route is that they give me a conditional PR which require me to cohabit with my partner for two years after getting the conditional PR. If we be in the same town in future that won't be a problem. But after graduation I may find a job in another town (or he may go to school to another town) and we may not be able to cohabit together in one place.
I am wondering if anyone has some suggestions/advice for me so I can chose the better route?
Cheers,
