My partner and I have been together for 8 years. He's a Canadian, I'm an American. I lived with him for 3 years in Canada. I went back home in August to be with my family as my grandfather was ill, and decided I would work to save up some income while we did our paperwork. My fiance's paperwork is all done, and I've already sent out my FBI background check information. However, as of September a new IT system was put up, and the estimate on the processing for my background check is 14-16 WEEKS. So far I've been back home for 6 months, and the plan is to go back to live with him around March.
He came down to visit me during Christmas for 2 and a half weeks. We have a numerous amount of pictures over the span of our relationship, including massive amounts of texts and conversations. I have pictures of us during his visit. My concern is that CIC will find my situation to be suspicious since we've been apart so long (although we were in a 4 year long distance relationship to begin with when we first got together, which I mentioned in our timeline). I wrote on my cover letter the reason why we were away from one another for this time, but I'm worried it's not enough.
Should I submit my paperwork without the FBI papers and explain why I'm submitting them without? I don't want to delay my paperwork or cause it to be more complicated than it needs to be, I just don't want them thinking our relationship is compromised or anything. Any help would be great, thanks.
