Hi everyone, long time I haven't been in this forum... I was hoping someone could help me with some questions.

I'm applying for PR under family class as my common-law is sponsoring me. We sent our application November 2013 and are still waiting for phase one to be approved.

I have a multiple entry visa and also a work permit with a company, I was wondering if it's risky for me to travel outside of Canada for a vacation? Would that affect my application?

I haven't seen my family for two years one, and I really want to go back home for a little while and then come back to Canada.

Any suggestions??

Thank you all!

You're the applicant? And I assume you're applying INLAND, not OUTLAND, right?
If you are applying Inland you run the risk of your application being cancelled if you travel outside of Canada and then are denied re-entry. In general it is advised not to leave Canada until it's completed.

If you applied Outland you can leave and come back, for sure.

Thanks for the quick reply Zarilenth.

Yes, I am the applicant and I'm applying inland.

So, even if I get phase one approved my application can be cancelled?!?!

An inland app is cancelled, at any stage, if applicant leaves Canada and is refused re-entry for any reason. The chance of refusal with valid work permit is very low, but is a small risk you have to take into account.

If you wanted to travel outside Canada during processing, you should have applied outland.
