I have a question, I obtained PR in December 2012 and then my fiancée (who is a Canadian Citizen) and I left for Thailand, we were living together for three years before we left Canada and a year and a half in Thailand, the relationship broke down after a year and a half out of Canada and she returned home……..My question is will the time we spent together out of Canada be considered as part of my RO when it comes time to return to Canada, I have another year left on my contract and will be cutting it fine.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, is it possible to email someone at CIC to confirm my status?

Yes - the time you spent living together outside of Canada can be counted towards the PR residency requirement. Note that you will have to provide proof / evidence that you were cohabitating during this time.

No - there is no one at CIC you can contact to confirm your status.
