Hi all,
I am planning to apply for an open work permit through the pilot program for permanent residence applicants in the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. I will be submitting a spousal sponsorship and OWP application together. I am in the process of reviewing the IMM 5556 Document Checklist for OWP and I can’t find a section that indicates a permanent residence application has been submitted. The other eligible categories such as “Student”, “Provincial Nominee”, “Common Law Partner of an Open Work Permit Holder or Skilled Worker” and “Common Law Partner of a Full-Time Student” don’t apply to me. My common-law partner is a Canadian Citizen. I am currently in Canada with a student visa that expires in April 2021. I am not eligible for a post-graduate work permit.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!
