Hi everyone,
I am from Turkey. My boyfriend and I are together for more than 7 years right now. We have a same-sex relationship. We have tried to live together during our post-graduate education. Both of us applied to same universities at the same time, but we could not manage to study in the same city. So, I could not live together. Now, he has moved to Canada to get his PhD, and I am still in Turkey. He has a work and study permit. I know that common-law partner of an international student with a study permit may be eligible for an open work permit in Canada. Even if he and I did not live together, is there any chance for us to be evaluated as common-law partners, and is there any chance for me to get an open work permit?
Do you guys know any consultant who can help us with this situation, in Turkey?
Note: I have no job experience except being a barista for 6 months. I have completed my military service. I got my MA degree in June, 2019.
