Common Law Open Work Permit Breakup

Hello,
I submitted almost a year ago my inland common law application. I received a 2 years open work permit with no particular conditions, but there is a remark which says "temporary resident status mantained as per R183(6) pending FC Apr."
I am undergoing a crisis with my canadian partner, and although we're still living together and didn't breakup yet, we are exploring other avenues for me to stay in the country.
If he withdraws my application, would I be allowed to stay and work until the expiration of my work permit?
What exactly does that remark mean?

It simply means that you have maintained legal status through that regulation.
