A friend of mine wants to apply for Canada PR. She has worked as an assistant professor in a college for almost 6 years now. But when asked for the experience letter, the college is giving her letter for 6 years in a way that 1 years say 2015-2016 has only 9 months of work experience and 3 months of gap or vacation.

Basically in her 6 years of job, she is getting 6x9=54 months of non continuous experience with 3 months of gap every 9 months. So in years she has experience of 6 years but in letter she will have continuous work experience of 4.5 years.

Just wondering if this can cause any problem with the evaluating officer while making a decision on her work experience post ITA?
Also, if this doesn't cause any problem, the actual work exp she should be applying with would be 4.5 years instead of 6 years?

This will not be acceptable. The College has to provide continuous experience.

Thanks for replying PreetSingh. So can't she apply under 4.5 years instead of 6 years as work experience?
Can you please provide some official link confirming this doubt?

This does not make any sense, why it has been provided in such a way?

FSW requires 1 year of continuous experience. She can try by explaining that 9 months of 'academic year' make a continuous 1 year, but outcome is unknown.

Not really sure but they seem adamant on this. Not budging at all!
What I dont get is any vacation if any is also part of employment. It was not as if your friend was terminated and re-hired start of each year. Does not make any sense at all to write employment periods like that if not terminated and re-hired.

If they provide continuous, obviously it will be 6 years. I know colleges are doing this shit however one can convince Principal to get a full experience reference letter.

If the gaps mention paid vacation then its probably acceptable to submit as is and claim the 6 yrs. Explain the breakdown in LOE.
