My wife received an email from this organization today, with a free offer to attend an orientation to Canada seminar. They are apparently an arm of CIC in the Philippines. We haven't received the visa yet & we're still "In Process" on ecas so not sure why they're sending this ... could it mean we are actually being approved but it's yet to show it in concrete terms? Has anyone else received this?

hello gumper, i also receive the same email. i also have the same dilemma. i sent my passport to manila embassy last june 3, 2014, and they also received my medical result last oct. 16, 2014. according to my ECAS the status of my application is ON PROCESS..

If it's not a hassle for you to attend, go and do it. It will save you scrambling to get in a class once your visa is issued.

Hi im still waiting po sa visa ko. Sinend ko passport ko sa canadian embassy firstweek ng august. And nareceive nila medical result ko ng sept9. And kanina po nakarceive ako ng email about this seminar. Ayos lang po ba pumunta kahit wala pa ung visa? And may idea po kaya kayo gano katagal bago masend ung passport at visa? Family class po ung inaapplyan ko. Thank you po. Godbless!

This seminar is optional.... and looks like the spots are limited now that everybody got the e-mail...
next available date seems to be October 28....

My wife will attend, she will learn some important stuff there... and free lunch and coffee all day... why not ???

Its an optionnal seminar, not like the CFO one. No need to make your wife come to Manila from the province for that. Unless she have business to do in the city.
