Hi guys,

my brother attended a Co-op program at a private college in Toronto. He finished the theoretical part, but still haven't started the practical one. He is thinking about abandoning this practical part and apply for a new program in the same college. His study permit will expire in December 31, 2023. Do you guys think it could be a problem if IRCC called the college for updated informations on his case?

Thanks!

Yes it will be a problem. He is abandoning his current studies and the terms of his current permit. The school should report him since he isn't studying anymore and his permit will be cancelled. He will have to apply for a new permit.
