Hi,
I am on a closed work permit (based on a High skilled LMO), but I fear that I may laid off by my company in the next few months. Now my permit is valid till 2016 and I also have a valid TRV for the same period of time. On the other hand, I will also be applying for my PR under CEC in a month. So considering my situation, assuming that I get laid off after I have completed my PR application, these are some of the options I have thought off.....
1)Applying for EI and then sit till I get my PR.
2)Apply for BOWP after I receive my AOPR on the PR application under CEC, though I am really sceptical about the fact that they will approve me of one while am having a closed work permit which is valid till 2016 (even though it will be completely useless other than assuring my stay in Canada).
3)Go back to my own country for a super long visit. Meanwhile, keep up with the PR application processes and then come back a month before I am expecting to receive the PR.
Now, I will be applying for other jobs if I get laid off, but I really doubt a company would go through a 3-4 months long LMO process just to hire me considering I won't be able to work for them during those 3-4 months period due to my CWP status. Please advise as to which of the aforementioned options are legally most viable and cost efficient. I would also appreciate and welcome any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance....
