Closed to Open Work Permit

Hi All,
Need your help and guidance.....

I am working Onsite in Canada (from India) on a closed work permit valid till Apr 2017
Want to understand what are the ways to get an open work permit and fees involved

Also do I need to resign from my current job?

I may get hired by the same company as a local permanent employee, so wanted to know what is the way for this
Please provide any info available....

There are only a few ways to be eligible for an open work permit. Nothing you have said would make you eligible. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=177&top=17

You don't have a TRP - you have a TRV. These are two different things. Only people who hold TRPs are eligible for open work permits. TRPs are special permits that people have to apply for when they are inadmissible to Canada (typically due to a crime).

You don't qualify for an open work permit under this rule since you don't hold a TRP.

So can company office in Canada get the work permit extended if that was previously created from my office in India?
