Client Identification number or a unique client identifier ?

Hi,

I am sponsoring my wife that lives in Nairobi, Kenya. The package was just received February 6, 2014 at the CIC Mississauga. Will they email a Client Identification number or a unique client identifier so that i can check the status of the application online?

I know I am really early in the stage, but just wondering how this process works.

Hi,
They shall be sending a letter generally an email with UCI (which will be the sponsor PR no) and also Application No.
Once SA (Sponsor Approval) takes place, you can check the status in ecas using.

UCI - and Sponsor details - to check sponsor info
Application No and Sponsored details - to check sponsored file status.

This website shows the typical processing times - so around 34 days (calendar days not business days) to get the email, but it might take longer, or shorter. The website for the first step is updated every Thursday, and the website for the second step, processing times for each Visa Office, is updated every 4 months.
