Client I.D. stays the same?

I have my client I.D. (9 digit number) on my study permit.
Will the number stay the same on my application for PR (family class)? I tried to check my status online but it doesn't seem to recognize it yet.

yes, it is the same. have you received SA yet? if not, then most likely you won't be able to use it to sign in. generally, the information is not put into the system until AFTER SA, and most applicants can only access the information through their sponsor's info. If you already have a UCI, then sometimes you can sign in sooner. Being able to sign into ECAS is no indication of anything about your application, so it's not something to cause concern. some visa offices don't even use it.

Is SA Sponsor approval? I haven't received it yet, I received one email from CIC that they got my application on the Sept 11th.

yes, that's sponsor approval, so it may be some time before you're actually able to see anything in ECAS.
