Hi,

I'm a PhD student in Canada right now. I have been working as a teaching assistant for 10 hours a week since September 2017.
I understand that I can classify this part of my experience under NOC 4012.

Between May 2018 and August 2018 (4 months), I was offered to teach a section in a multi-section undergraduate course under the title of part-time lecturer.
This was a replacement of my TA assignment; I would've taken up TA role otherwise. 10 hours per week.
I was a masters student under supervision while I was teaching the section, so I did not have my masters degree yet.
Duties during that 4 months include:
Lecturing a class based on a syllabus prescribed by the course coordinator
Holding office hours for the course
Contributing one or two questions per test

After this 4 months, I continued straight to PhD, and there was no gap in employment from the university.
Does this 4-month experience count as NOC 4012? I'm asking this question because this 4 months period is sitting in the middle of my TA experience, and I'm not sure whether this experience would cut the continuity in my work experience.
If it can be presented as NOC 4012, what documents do I need to corroborate my case?
If not, what else can I do?

Work experience while on a study permit in Canada does not give you points for immigration.

I’m not entirely sure about your case, however, you can bring a letyer from your advisor or department head of the work done, hours, and salary. This is what I’m planning to do. I should say that the work done must be related to your field/degree. One letter of all the continuous work with duties I think should be fine.
I recently enrolled into EE FSW NOC4012 and now collecting my documents. That’s what I’m bringing as a document for my work in Canada under a study permit.
