Hello,
I’m looking for clarification regarding the IMM5739 document after submitting an online study permit extension application through IRCC.
Here is my situation:

I just want to make sure everything is normal and that I’m not missing anything in my application.

I’m looking for clarification regarding the IMM5739 document after submitting an online study permit extension application through IRCC.
Here is my situation:
- I submitted my study permit extension application online via my IRCC account (GCKey) less than 24 hours ago.
- I received the confirmation of submission and payment receipt.
- However, I did NOT receive any document labeled IMM5739 in my account (no message, no PDF, nothing in the Messages section).
From what I understand, IMM5739 is supposed to be the official confirmation of application receipt.
My questions are:
- Is IMM5739 always generated for online applications, or only in certain cases?
- Is there sometimes a delay (e.g. 24–48 hours) before it appears in the IRCC account?
- Can the “confirmation of submission” document replace IMM5739 as proof of application (for institutions like universities)?
- Has anyone experienced not receiving IMM5739 at all?
Additional context:
- My current study permit expires March 31, 2026.
- I submitted my extension application BEFORE the expiration date, so I should be under maintained status.
I just want to make sure everything is normal and that I’m not missing anything in my application.
Thanks in advance.
