Hi, and thanks in advance to anyone taking the time to help me clarify especially since this is probably an obvious question!
My husband (outside of Canada, in the US) applied for a spouse PR last year and recently got this communication from IRCC:
The steps following this one are more clear and are about determining if they need to issue him a physical or eVisa, but I'm just wondering about the first step. Are they just asking for us to update them IF any of that information has changed since submission (and since it hasn't, does that mean we can submit nothing and move on to the next steps in the email?) or are they wanting us to submit an update listing all that information again?
I'm assuming we don't have to submit anything since nothing has changed but I'm just nervous that I may misinterpret things and then find we have missed the deadline to submit. I'm also hoping this email means we can be optimistic the PR is being approved and they're just confirming details about whether they need to issue a Visa or not but trying not to get ahead of myself.
Thanks again for any insight.

Dear -,
The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the
following steps within 30 days in order to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, permanent
residence visa.
If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, you must inform IRCC immediately via the IRCC Web form
with details concerning your situation.
STEP 1: UPDATE YOUR APPLICATION
If any of the following conditions apply, you must inform IRCC immediately via the IRCC Web form:
• Marriage or common-law union, divorce, annulment, legal separation;
• Death of the sponsor, the principal applicant or any accompanying family member;
• Birth or adoption of a child, including grandchildren born to dependent children;
• You, the principal applicant, or any of your family members have been charged or convicted of a criminal offence.
