Clarification on if I will need to send Regular Passport Copy or Certified Copy!

Hi experts,

I am from Afghanistan, I want to sponsor my husband from Afghanistan. I live in Canada.

One thing I want to ensure is that on the CIC website. I am on the Part 3: Information guides, on Additional Details for residents of Afghanistan.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS
Certified copies of the photo and information page of your valid passport and of any old expired passports for you and your family members. Copies of passports submitted should include:
•passport number,
•date of issue and expiration,
•given name and surnames (family name) and
•date and place of birth.

Does this mean we have to get Photo Copy of the first page with photo and have it certified somewhere??? Please advise because previously my siblings have done theirs and they said they just had sent the copy. I am thinking Perhaps the rules have changed now...

Every one sends the copy of the first page which includes all the details of the passport holder.We did the same for India and if they are asking for Certified Copy then you can get certified copy of your passport on the back of the paper with the stamp..Hope this works for you
