Hi,

Last March 2019, I applied for student visa and was granted my student visa. I am currently studying in Canada and just remembered and realized that in my application I wrote single but declared in a previous relationship. The time I applied, we had a little misunderstanding due to several reasons but were still living together under the same roof since mid 2016 up until I left for Canada last August 2019. We basically didn't separate so I would have wanted to correct my civil status there. Is there anyway that this could have been corrected? This actually slipped my mind until recently when I asked my partner to join me in Canada. What advise or where do we go from here?

Thank you so much for taking this time.

Regards,
Zaie

There's no way to go back in time and correct your application. It's unfortunately you entered the wrong status in your application.

If you want your partner to come to Canada now, all you can do is have him/her apply and include an explanation stating you put the wrong status in your student visa application - and hope IRCC accepts this explanation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I would also like to know if this would affect my current student visa. Are they going to revoke my visa because of this mistake?
