Hello,

I am from Syria, and i was born in early 1990s, I am trying to apply for inland spousal sponsorship.

One of the required document is a Birth Certificate.

I asked my parents, they don't have it, it seems that at that time they don't issue a birth certificate in Syria at that time.

i asked my relative there, they said that Syrian Authorities can issue to you a civil record, which show name, last name, parents name, date and place of birth, and some other info.

My question is can i use the civil record document instead of the birth Certificate ? or what do you advise me to do if i don't have the birth certificate?.

Please notice that it's been required to attach a civil record in addition to the passport for every applicant from syria (Special requirement from Syrian applicant), so i have to submit that anyway.

Thank you.
