I would like to know if anyone is going through the same. I submitted my mother's citizenship application. My mother was above the age of 55 at that time. Therefore, she is exempt from the exam and language requirements.
Timeline:
1) CIC received the application on September 13, 2018 (assigned the application number)
2) Started processing on September 20, 2018.
After that I have not heard back from them. I sent them an IRCC webform inquiry but they said they will let me know if anything further is needed.
I need to know if anyone else is going through the same? Why does it have to take more than 12 months to finalize the application. My mother wanted to vote in the general elections but since the application was in process there was not much she could do.
I tried to get my MP involved as well but it seems like the MP is sleeping has no time to even respond to my e-mails.
Please let me know if this is normal.
