I APPLIED FOR CITIZENSHIP LAST AUGUST AS A FAMILY AND SINCE AUGUST 30 SHOWING (IN PROCESS) , AND LAST TIME I CALLED OUR MP TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY UPDATE , I GOT REPLAY FROM HEAR AS BELOW :

· Fairly new application. The application was received 12 Aug 2016 and was acknowledged shortly after.
· Security is in progress.
· Creditability has been passed.
· Criminality and Medical hasn’t yet been started.


HOW LONG IT DOES TAKE FOR SECURITY CHECK ? AND CRIMINALITY AND MIDECAL ?

I am not aware that for Citizenship, there are any medical checks? Are there any? I though this apply for PR only! any thoughts pls..

Hi arch,
This type of check can be required if someone has a medical condition that needs treatment in Canada after landing. As this is personal, just double check your landing documents and see if there was a condition.
As part of Citizenship requirements, the officers should check landing documents for any conditions like medical and conditional permanent residency.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. I have never come across a situation where a medical check is required for citizenship application. You mentioned your application has been in process the whole time. Did you take your test yet?
