I am currently a PR holder in Canada. I have been here long enough to apply for citizenship.

I am going to renew my PR card next year since it's expiring. I believe it ought to be good for another 5 years then.

I read here that I can work outside of Canada once the application for citizenship has been submitted. If I were to get a job outside of Canada while my citizenship application is being processed and my permanent residency card is active:

1) Will I lose my PR status because I'm no longer living in Canada most of the time?

2) Will I be able to renew my PR card if for some reason I do not get my citizenship by the time it needs to be renewed?

3) What happens if I have no physical address in Canada to received mail? How will they notify me of the status of my citizenship application?

1) You must always meet the residency requirements of 730 days in Canada or more in the past 5 years. That is not just in your first 5 years as a PR but also after that.

2) You can not renew your PR card if you are outside Canada. You would have to come back to do it.

3) You must update your address with CIC, for example through the embassy in the country where you are living. When they call you for test/oath, you must be ready to go on short notice. They will not schedule them at your convenience.
