Hello,
I understand that the law changed last year, allowing citizenship by descent to extend beyond just one generation. Does this mean I could qualify if my great-grandfather was born there? I'm struggling to find a clear answer. Thank you!

Yes, If your great-grandfather was born in Canada, all of his descendants born before December 15, 2025, are Canadian citizen and can apply for a citizenship certificate, including you, as long as you can prove the lineage and have a birth certificate for the Canadian ancestor.

The application to get your proof of citizenship can be started here : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...s/canadian-citizenship/proof-citizenship.html
