Hello,
according to the CIC, adult applicants 55 years of age and over do not need to write the citizenship test. Are they interviewed instead?
Please do share your experience.

When i went to write my test there were couple of over 55 and yes they was interviewed not necessarily to access their language ability more to assess their presence in Canada passport checks etc etc

When I took my test, same thing. They asked who is over 54 and pulled them out of the group and brought them to interview with the judge before the test. Seeing it from a far, it looked more like a friendly chat than a 3rd degree interrogation :)

Thats true it wasn't really a interrogation by the look of it but i did seen from a distance they going through from their passports and stuff

Thank you for all the inputs. Basically they do check these applicants' language skills too.

Not very much language skills but yes all the other aspects are checked just like any other applicant.

Yes, definitely they must ensure that the applicant meets all the residential requirements... but I don't think they would provide a translator.

Nops there are no translators. They have to represent their own self.
