Hello there!

Who knows what the following from the CIC website "On-Line Services" means:

"We started processing your application on December 2, 2017."

What would be the next step in the citizenship application process and how long that next step would take, roughly speaking?

Means your file was transferred to a local case processing center and is now being processed - background, criminality, eligibility checks will be performed on you.

Next step could be fingerprint request or test invite. RQ is random. Very few receive it.

Hi Everyone. I sent our application on November 29 2017( Mine, 20yo daughter and 17 yo son).I am worried coz my son is turning 18 this coming February 04 2018. The following is the status :
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on December 1, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 17, 2018.

What makes you worry about your son turning 18?. In fact it should be a happy moment in your life.

It's probably a generic line everyone gets regardless of their age.
Your son was a minor when the application was signed. He will not have to pass the exam.

Thanks for all the reply.I’m worried that they won’t start the application til after Feb 04 and my start will be 18 yo by then. My worry is his application won’t be attached to mine as a minor. Which means we have to reapply for him as an adult.
