CIT-0001 Question 8a for non-citizen

There is so much helpful information on this forum, but I didn't see my question (apologies if this is already been covered):

We recently applied for a citizenship certificate for our children who were born in the US. My wife, their mother, was born in Canada and I was born in the US (and am not a Canadian Citizen). Today the applications were returned to us saying the information was incomplete with part of question 8a highlighted.

Specifically, in question 8a for the information about me, it asks for two pieces of information: "How did this parent obtain Canadian citizenship?" and "On what date did this parent first enter Canada to live?"

I'm not a citizen and I've never lived in Canada. Do I just put "N/A" for both or is there some specific wording I need to fill in so that I don't confuse the reviewer? I'm hoping to avoid having the application returned again.

Thanks in advance
