Chances are it's a visa officer like you mention ! :)

I believe its RC 6262 for all the cases. For me also it was RC 6262 and I read same for couple of more folks. This is department I believe and not VO. Some other VO opened my file even though it was assigned to RC 6262.

Received my GCMS notes. Same as other people who have an application received status. Criminality is in process. Eligibility has not been assessed.

spookyb,
Under Criminality, what is your status against Sub Activities - RCMP Screening Fingerprints ?

Andy,

I sent you a PM. My RCMP Screening says "no reportable trace".

Hi,

When i applied for the gcms note on 5th june i got e-mail saying that:;

"Your temporary request tracking number is xxxxx. After your request has been registered, a new number will be assigned to your request"

Still i haven't get any other email regarding new number. Was my request registered successful? Or do i need to apply again for it?

Thanks.

You have to wait 30 days

That means you don't require the RCMP PCC. You are fine.

That's what I figured. Andy and I were just discussing how he may need one and I may not.

For applicants whose names are quite common and Canadian police is not able to narrow it down to one person, they may request finger prints to make sure of the person's identity. If your name, or combination of first and last names, is uncommon, you won't need to do anything.

On the subject of notes, on mine there is a line that says file is transferred to Ottawa. Below that there is entry for reason and it states: eligible. However, it does not say passed or failed. So I am guessing it's a preliminary pass equivalent to "it appears to be eligible" so let Ottawa take another look.

You aren't fully eligible until everything is complete - meds, security, crime. So you should have some confidence based on your work experience.

@4012 If that is the case many of us will be getting fingerprints bc there are a lot people with common names

when did you apply for pr and is your App in process or app received?

I know. CIO indicated "eligibility" as a mere reason for transferring the file to CPP-Ottawa, not final approval of the file. It may also happen that CPP overrule CIO over eligibility and reject me application even if MR and security are passed, or even without requesting them. I am only reporting what my notes say.

Many do. My first name is very uncommon and last name is only barely common, so no finger prints for me.

I applied in March and got AOR end of April. File is now in Ottawa but still "app received" not in process.

@4012 I guess they are doing a preliminary thing in Sydney and then sending it to Ottawa due to strike or lack of personel in Ottawa?
