First of all, my timeline as below (CEC INLAND):
  • AOR: Apr. 20
  • Med passed: May 10
  • IP1: May 10
  • NA: July 14
  • IP2: Sept. 28
  • Original documents requested by CIC: Oct. 11
  • Verification done, application approved: Oct. 17
  • Inland CoPR interview, application finalized: Oct. 23
My Express Entry application started as most of others, but it ended in a very interesting way. CIC recently initiated a Verification Pilot Project to verify if the candidates have submit true and honest document online by requesting original documents, passport, job letter, bank statement, IELTS transcript, diploma etc..

Unfortunately, I am the SECOND person in Canada selected to go through this extra screening (told by the CIC officer). An immigration officer called me about 2 weeks after my IP2. He was polite, patient and clear over the phone, and he also clarified their address and welcomed me to check if it was a scam by calling CIC.

Since I was on a trip, I wasn't able to sent him my documents right away. He even told me he had a deadline to finish this verification and did his best to arrange. I sent documents over with FedEx Overnight the first thing I got home and he finished his verification very speedily. We kept email communication throughout the process. He had been very patient and responsive. After the verification, he sent me an email saying it was done and my PR application was approved, then booked a CoPR appointment for me. It did take a few days to book the appointment.

Because of this, I didn't have PPR in my application process. And I never received CoPR paper or PR Visa as Inland office doesn't issue this. All I had to do after the verification was to attend the CoPR interview. The interview took literally 2 minutes. A local officer asked me very quickly about my crime history, visa history or any unreported dependant. After I answered "no, no, no, no", she went back and printed my CoPR, told me my rights as a PR. Then it was done.

I do believe there will be more candidates selected for this verification. As long as you keep every related document intact and honestly present yourself in your application, you should be safe and good. I had a very pleasant experience communicating with CIC officers. They really made me feel welcomed.

Today is my Day One as a Canadian PR. I appreciate the help I got from this forum and wish good luck to everyone here.
