Hi all,

Just a quick question...will CIC in Mississauga contact my current employer? Will they contact the Chinese authorities and verify my work permit, etc?

Also, when I am approved as my wife's sponsor, will the VO in Hong Kong focus mainly on my wife, or will they also investigate me, the sponsor?

Thanks!

FS

The vo focuses on your wife. I was not even informed of anything after I was approved. It all shifted to my husband, but I was the one checking e-cas. He doesnt even know what the site looks like. My employer btw was not contacted, but that was here in Canada.

So it's safe to say the VO in Hong Kong will not be checking with my employer or anything like that, yeah? If anyone was going to check, it would be CIC in Toronto, correct?

I just want to leave my employer on my terms...I'll follow my contract and give them notice, but that's the best I am willing to do...am I pretty much safe to assume I'll be able to do it 'my way'?

Thanks,

FS (Frank Sinatra) :P

They won't contact your employer.

After you are approved as sponsor, that part of the process is DONE. The VO has no interest in the finances of the sponsor, nor can they question whether you should be a sponsor or not, that has already been decided. The VO responsibility is to approve or disapprove the applicant only based on the validity of marriage, background checks etc.
