I really wish we had a CIC/CPC insider here in our forum.

In some forums (like FLYERTALK), company representatives/insiders would be a part of the forum- Usually they have separate threads to answer questions about an upcoming change, or inform the forum members of the latest developments inside the organization. Social media like Facebook is a very good example how a company can directly communicate with its customers.

We could very well have a representative from CIC to address our questions and concerns. Here in this forum, we have numerous experts who share their own personal experiences and that forms the base of our information source. However, many of us just speculate (though mostly correct) as to how the processes unfold. A CIC insider perhaps would provide the correct rationale behind CIC's confusing processing times for family class applicants. The person can throw more light on the status with file transfers to other offices, and regarding the status of office closures around the world. There are thousands of questions asked here which can be effectively answered by such member(s).

I am not sure if such a person is here - but if yes, please indicate yourself and help us out!

this one is owned by a lawyer in particular, so i dont think you will have cic representatives on here... but i get what you are saying... and for that it has to be cic provided forums...

CIC has facebook and twitter but not sure if they actually respond to people on it.

Tax payers will not accept another 100+ agents just to reply to all the inquiries. When the agents can't answer inquires, or reply with different versions from different agents, or ask them them to wait, people get upset, angry, call agents useless fat cats, threaten to sue the government, litigation issues. So what is the point of it? The best is not have it at all.

It certainly would be a great resource to have but I don't expect a government agency to officially create a presence in a public forum owned and controlled by a private entity. Still, there are consultants and lawyers who've been previously employed at CIC who could definitely offer precious advise/help when needed, it's just too bad they will have no interest in doing so at the expense of their professional practice i.e. their source of income.

Actually, there is one member here who is an immigration consultant...

There used to be a poster here who had a friend who worked as a visa officer. Here's his report:

As well, apparently Fencesitter's father has a friend who works for CIC, but I don't think he's passed any info on to us yet.

Yes, it is true, my dad knows someone in CIC. The problem I have is whether I should be divulging insider information on a public forum. I was going to a while back, but then I was attacked by one of the members of this site, so I decided not to bother. Perhaps once my application has cleared sponsorship approval I will post in more detail, but to be honest, most of what I would post has been posted before.

I think I saw the thread you are referring to where you were attacked for sharing your (insiders) opinion. I totally agreed with you on that one, and the overreactions of others were unjustified. It is funny because what you said in that thread has been repeated to me from several reliable sources, one of which used to be a border officer and worked on the inside. He happens to now be a lawyer, and an excellent one at that. But as soon as anyone on this forum mentions they used a lawyer/consultant/insider and shares the advice or info, others seem to get selective hearing/reading and attack you for passing on info that they didn't want to know because its not what they did.

You were attacked?! What the heck for O_o

People are weird! LOL

Not really attacked. The member was going on about 'daddy' knowing someone in CIC. It was rather pathetic. I decided at the time not share this information. Perhaps I may change my mind once I have been approved and the application has be transferred to the VO. The information I have is only good for sponsorship approval and some general information on family class sponsorship...but again, a lot of it has been discussed here and elsewhere...

Yes, some people are strange...

I think I read the thread you are referring to. The reaction was unjustified and seemed like the people were trying to save face more than get at what is actually useful information. Personally I like to hear everything, judge the reliability and the sources, and decide for myself. Your info was valuable.
