So, CIC, you want us all to wait...are you being indirect? Are you trying to tell us something? Okay, so I have a bit of a tire wrapped around my waist, who doesn't?! I can take a hint, sir...and you too, Mr. Kenny, looks like you could use a family class sponsorship to lose some pounds (note to self: if ever thinking of opening a fitness center, remember, a great name would be CIC!).

Okay, it's on...the exercise program of a life time! Not really overweight, but it wouldn't hurt to get myself into better condition for the triumphant return to Canada. Who's with me? Starting from tomorrow (Monday, April 23rd, 2012), I am back to eating healthy food and getting lots of exercise. If CIC wants us to wait, may as well do something productive! Surely this will be good for both body and mind! And it will feel awesome to arrive back home looking tip top!

haha, change your name from Fencesitter to Fencejumper. Great idea. Maybe tie it to end in mind motivation like loose 10 pounds and get your sponsorship application processed faster by a week. Some might maybe want to nourish their mind and exercise their mind. How about getting one week fatser processing each personal development book read? Wow, that would be something. You will be superman if you combine both and get your application over with within 6 months. But wait, thats contrary to what the shepherd wants. If we human sheep all a sudden get fit and have improved more efficient brains, it would be bad, nobody would want us as we would try to change our comfort zones, improve life, get rid of mushroom head government and be totally out of line swimming against the current. They would deny such people access as their very sorry Jobs would be on the line. Puuuh, guess my thought went all the way to the moon and back. Maybe all this immigration stuff would be material for a book.

Right now I think a better name would be "Fence Breaker" because I wouldn't be able to jump any fences...:p

But yeah, I was thinking about this the other day....no sense in using energy to worry or get angry over the slowness...instead, direct that energy on something positive, so this is what I've decided to do...

I'd like to get myself into the best shape possible so I can sport a painted on Canadian flag and forego wearing clothes when we arrive in Toronto...that'll show them I am definitely a true Canadian...(with Italian heritage...no really, my mom's from Italy!).

I started walking and running for exercise during my "waiting on CIC period". To date, I have covered just over 600km in running (my goal is to get to 1000km or as close as I can before I get to Canada), and I have lost about 15lbs. I feel healthier and a great deal less stressed than I might have been had I not indulged in all this exercise and healthy eating and looking after myself. I will be cheering you on as you go! :)

i truly wish u good luck!!! it's more in the power of the mind, forcing urself to start and keep going for a few weeks and then it will b just smooth and part of ur normal daily routine ;) plus ur dogs should help a great deal :)
i actually thought abt that too and we actually got a wii training program it's really cool, tells u what u do right wrong, u can set up goals, etc (here it's too hot to run outside and gyms are scarce and far to reach) i don't need it to loose weight just to keep my mind well and get a little fitter :) the problem is that i started right after we sent the application, but recently nothing ::) i actually put so many things on hold just waiting for that 1st stage approval, it's crazy...i always told myself i'll start new stuff when i know we r in the system and we get the official confirmation that our so many months work is there....and now already months were waisted.....hope others will learn from this mistake....

Charlie, congraaaaaaaats, i'm really happy u finally reached the end....u so much deserved it....wish u a happy life in Canada hope it is really like u dreamt to be and hope u'll stay around :)

My exercise has been a bit counter intuitive.. since it's been warming up, I've been riding my bike down to the river. Every time, I pass by the bridge that my husband proposed to me, and then I start wishing he could come on all my bike rides with me. But.. that happens a lot ::)

I know my husband has been going to the gym everyday after work, so it seems we're both trying to take our mind of things and do something productive with our time.

I just signed up for a 30-day fitness boot camp. I figured I'll distract myself one month at a time during this whole process while Buffalo gets their act and my file together. Just a tune up as I started to actually eat again after my wedding in October.

For sure Fencesitter, nothing better in the world for you and how you are feeling than exercise. Get the mindset of becoming super-fit, brain and body, and dont even think weight-loss. Just focus on fitness and your body will just naturally mold itself for your increased performance.lol. serious though.

Especially during times when going absolutely crazy with the wait.

What a great idea!!! While waiting I have been exercising using videos in my basement. So far 15lbs gone. The exercise has led to juicing, the juicing has led to composting, I started it in the winter, so now I have started a vegetable garden. This wait has turned into a positive for me. Thanks for the reminder. Could also just mean I have too much time on my hands.. :eek:

Haha, good idea! I just had a baby 4 months ago but luckily back to my prepregnancy weight. Just have to tone up my belly now. I have the Wii dance at home...lots of fun but haven't got a chance to do it as much as I want to.

Just a quick update on my progress. I have lost 11kgs!!! Here's my routine:

1. 15-20 minutes on my stationary bike before I go to work in the morning

2. 30 minutes at lunch

3. 25 minutes after dinner

I bought a "New Horizon" stationary bike from Sam's Club. It's really good. According to the computer, I'm burning about 850 calories per day (going by the above routine).

I eat a lot of protein, vegetables, and fruit...I also a drink A LOT of water! I try not to eat any high carb foods...I feel great!

My goal is to lose an additional 15kgs and then start building muscle mass by lifting weights.

My mind is clear and I am not restless...it's really helped to keep my mind off of this long waiting...

I strongly recommend doing something to keep your mind off of this whole immigration mess...

woooow that's amazing!!!! it's good to see positive things on ppl from all this wait :) keep up the good work!! ;D

i'm not impressed with me :( i started in a nice way, i took a break and now i can't start again :eek: i always say tomorrow and tomorrow comes and goes ::) but at least the work helps me not to feel the time ::)

Thanks! It was hard for the first couple of weeks, but after that it got easier, and now it's something I look forward to...I've been reading "Nelson DeMille" novels while I ride which has really helped...he's a fantastic writer! Currently reading "Up Country"...awesome story!
