Hey guys,

If CIC did happen to contact the sponsor's employer, what kind of questions would they be asking? Stuff like qualifications, start date of employment, salary, hours, and so on?

Would they be asking for details of how the sponsor got the job? or is it a simple matter of confirming what is written on the letter from the employer that was submitted with the Sponsor's application??

Thanks,

FS

My guess is that it would be just a simple confirmation of what is written on the employment letter.
CIC is not interested in your qualifications, they just want to confirm that you have enough income and that you can sustain yourself and your spouse in Canada.

Just confirmation details, as you said, like start of employment and salary.

I am not currently working. I recieved a letter saying I had been approved as a sponsor. So i'm thinking they probably won't contact you.

I do not think they would even bother if you supplied a original letter with letterhead as its a spousal sponsorship without minimum income requirements. I guess they do background check, look if you are bankrupt or not and how many other sponsorships ypu have running plus all the details on form are accurate and maybe check here and there for their validity.

i have never heard of them calling your work place all they want to see is if you are able to support your spouse and that's why you send in your option C tax sheet
