hi

i called cic today to check the status of my application. the agent who answered my call said that since monday (may 25) those agents are no longer able to go and check into our application details unless the processing time has passed. i called couple week ago and the agent was able to check application details. does this happened to anyone else??...is it true??

I guess it must be true then. A couple weeks ago I could call and verify that they received my wife's police certificates. But just today, the officer that answered my call refused to verify if they received my own police certs that I sent in last week. And he even gave me wrong information about being able to check by going on ECAS. But there is NOTHING on ECAS. It doesn't tell you if they received police certificates. This is seriously ridiculous and frustrating for everyone. It seems like CIC is reducing their job scope to the point that they are not doing anything.
 
The only way to know for sure if they received your police cert is to order GCMS notes. It happened to me before, i called 3 times - 1 said nothing shows on the system and the 2 others said its been received. Recently, they wont even bother looking int your account unless it passes processing time.
 
I called them last week and the agent on her own gave me all the information before I asked for it. She was able to confirm that CIC had updated my file with the PCC I had send in March last week for my CEC application. There is no SOP when it comes to how CIC agents respond to your queries.
