CIC Buffalo e-CAS is not updated ?

Hi Rossei

First of call Congrats for becoming PR,I have not been an active member on this forum,I have been following posts in the different topics.I have quite a few question and thought you might be able to share some answers.
I applied for PNP International Masters Graduate Stream. At the time I got PNP I was working in a Call Centre. (I am an Electrical Engineer and have a Masters Degree).So once I got the PNP, I filled out PR forms for Buffalo and mentioned my current job at that time as a Customer Service.It was back in January 2011. Then I got Job as an Electrical Engineer in a Consulting Engineering Firm in Toronto in March 2011. Now Since March 2011 I am working as an Electrical Engineer. I got AOR+MR on August 08, 2011. Did my medicals at same place as you did on 17th August 2011 and Ottawa received on 29th August. No update on Ecas and not a word from Buffalo.
My question is that I never updated Buffalo with my Professional Job, as I was under international Masters Graduate Stream in PNP and the other reason for not updating was many of my friends mentioned if you update them with such a change then your file is thrown back at the end of queue. Sow Now I am quite confused that whether I should have updated them with my Current Occupation (thinking it might have had some +ve impact on my application). Or if I do so then it might make things more slow. I would appreciate if you can provide your opinion on this situation. Sorry for the long message.
By the way I am a Pakistani National, I did my Undergrad from Bangladesh (from IUT). You assumed everything right. I've nothing to add on top of it. If I were you, I would have notified Buffalo with my employment update. But since you applied in MS stream; employment isn't really a criteria. Unfortunately, CIC-Buffalo has every right to contact your employer to verify your employment. So, you either let your previous employer know about current employment and redirect CIC (if they contact) to your present employer or may choose to inform Buffalo. You friends were right in guessing that it may delay your case for this update.

Since you already did your medical, they will soon open your file and start processing. During processing, the CASE OFFICER may choose to verify some of your statuses. Now it's up to you what you select to do. You can just keep quiet with fingers crossed.

Lastly, congrats on getting a decent engineering job.

Thank you Rossei for your reply, you have been a great source of encouragement for all of us on this forum. I will certainly contact my last employer (I still have good terms with my boss there) and will update to my last employer details of my new employer. Yes you are right, it totally depends on the Visa Officer whether to check with mt previous employer or not. Anyways lets hope everything will go as normal. Another thing which makes me worried that my application might take a little longer than others is that I have submitted Police Clearance from 3 countries. Pakistan, Bangladesh and Dubai. So for CIC to check my background, it might take a little longer. Anyways lets c what happens. I can only wait and nothing is up to me. Once again thanks for your help.

My e-cas just updated today, oct 10. After months of no updates. Received application jan 2011. Now, medical results received but no date posted. I think its a good sign though.

How many more months would i receive a PPR?

Yeah! We've been wanting this for so long. It's been almost 3 years (nov 2008) since my hubby left philippines. We've been waiting for so long. We want this process to be as short as possible. Hopefully, before holidays we will have our visas to be with our loved ones. It's not easy to be separated especially u had a 3 year old daughter left with you.

I know. Don't worry. Ok regarding ur passport u should sent it to ur hubby as soon cos he will get ppr request in his spam folder. Then he have to sent his and your passport together to buffalo with pics. So send ur passport as soon .

Any idea which is way faster, dhl or fed ex? Or any suggestions?

Both are almost same. But first see whether they send passport? Cos some countries dhl and fedex doesn't accept passport due to regulations in the country.

Yup in my country India they don't I have give it to in person to Dubai and then send it thru dhl from Dubai. My wife s brother was there. Soo

The same thing happened to me.
My E-Cas has not updated since Oct.29 2010 and it was saying "Application received" but now there is an update and it says "Medical results have been received" but there is no date for that.
Does anyone have an idea about the time that I will get a pass request?

where do you se the message that syas medical received? is it after you click the name or below the message of application receive? thanks

Yes. When I log in, it still says "application received". When I click on it it goes to another page and it says "Application received on Oct.29 and now there is another line which says "Medical results have been received"

I just check ECAs and there was a big change in my ecas after almost a year. It says in this order:


We received your application for permanent residence on October xx, 2010.

We started processing your application on October xx, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

ANYONE HAS THE SAME EXPERIENCE? IT DID NOT SAY HOWVER WHAT IS THE DECISION? ANY THOUGHTS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
i THOUGHT THEY WILL REQUEST PPR 1ST BEFORE A DECISION? IS EVERYTHING LOOKING GOOD HERE? PLEASE HELP ME AM SO CONFUSED!!!
