Before applying for GIC from CIBC you should contact CIC or at least VFS to check with them if CIBC's GIC is acceptable or not.

Hi - i was told CIBC's GIC is acceptable. They were in the SDS announcement.

Friend of mine told me he used CIBC for Deposit prgram - https://www.cibc.com/en/special-offers/international-student-gic.html#detailsdeposit, was told it was all easy. I apply for regual GIC and was easy as well!
