Hi,

I have completed my ECA and have a Bachelors (in Engineering) and Master's (MBA) qualification. My IETLS overall score is 8.0.

I have 5 years of experience as Software test engineer (NOC 2173) from 2006 to 2011. And 2 years 9 months Project management experience in Information systems/Computer/Software (NOC 0213) from 2014 to 2017.

I wanted to base my application on 0213 but since I don't reach the 3 year cut-off, my score is 446. However if I base my application on 2173 my score is 477 which is great.

I am worried that if I base my application on 2173 corresponding to my experience gained until 2011. It feels like very old experience. So I think my chances of getting an ITA will be low but at the same time the score of 477 vs 446 is making me choose 2173 as the base for my Express entry profile.

Please guide me to make a proper selection on the NOC on which i should base my application to have higher chance of getting ITA.

Your response much appreciated.
Cheers!

It doesn't matter how old is your experience as long as it's within the last 10 years. Old experience doesn't lower your chances for ITA.

Hi,

You misunderstand the point system. For eligibility, you only need one year of continuous full-time work experience (or the equivalent in part-time work) in the selected NOC.

But when calculating total experience, you add up all skilled work experience in the past 10 years, even if you have multiple NOCs.
