Hello Everybody,

I tried to search about my inquiry but I was not able to find or see among many posts.

I am a high school graduate and I will be going to Canada to study in college.
So I will complete 2 years of diploma program.

Here is the question;

What do I choose below? Remember I will apply to this when I already graduate from Canadian College. So should choose "Secondary Diploma (High School Graduate)" or "Two year program at a university, college..."

4) What is your level of education?
Enter the highest level of education for which you:

  • earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate or
  • had an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if you did your study outside Canada. (ECAs must be from an approved agency, in the last five years)
Note: a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate must either have been earned at an accredited Canadian university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute in Canada. Distance learning counts for education points, but not for bonus points in your profile or application.

Here it doesn't say that I should only choose my educational level which was done outside Canada. I even paid money and asked to an registered IRCC consultant and she says "No here we should choose "Secondary Diploma" and 4b and 4c we choose Canadian Degree, Diploma."

4b) Have you earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate?
Note: to answer yes:

  • English or French as a Second Language must not have made up more than half your study
  • you must not have studied under an award that required you to return to your home country after graduation to apply your skills and knowledge
  • you must have studied at a school within Canada (foreign campuses don’t count)
  • you had to be enrolled full time for at least eight months, and have been physically present in Canada for at least eight months

4c) Choose the best answer to describe this level of education.

but It does not make sense at all, I am not applying now, I will go to Canada, study and graduate from 2 years diploma program and that will be my LEVEL of EDUCATION.

Because If I do it the way she says, my CRS is very low.

So I am really confused, hope there is someone who understands me and clarify this situation for me.

Thank you very much in advance.

Jio

Why are you looking at the CRS calculator? Even after graduating you will not be eligible without skilled work experience. When you graduate, you choose two year diploma and then Canadian education. Do you have a study permi?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I know, I will have my PGWP and have 2-3 years of Canadian Work Experience which falls under NOC 0-A-B

But my question is, when the time comes (not for now, for future), I will be a graduate from Canadian College, what do I choose for Question 4?

So I choose my highest level of education which is my Canadian College Degree, right?

Well I do not have study permit yet, I would like to know these things from now so I can plan everything accordingly.
Like choosing 2 year diploma program or 3 year advanced diploma program etc etc

Yes you choose diploma. Are you going to university for a degree or college for a diploma...big difference. Getting skilled employment can be a challenge too.

Well I am 28 years old and have almost 10 years of work experience (NOC A and B). I know Outside Canada work experience doesn't help much for getting a job in Canada but I am racing with time therefore I have to plan it on Canadian work experience rather than degree.

Also I am looking for PNP options. For example Alberta or Atlantic Provinces, there is a chance of getting nominee by these provinces.

So I have to know all these little things from now on so that when the time comes for PR, I don't get disappointed.

Albert, maybe if you live and work there. Atlantic provinces, you need a job offer. Focus on the study permit for now.
