Thanks...that's good to know. I couldn't imagine the post office being closed for a solid week...imagine the backlog in a country with a population of 1.5 Gazillion people....

Still no passport for my wife.

We had 2nd Decision Made on September 12th (16 days ago). I assume it's coming soon, and just so everyone knows, the embassy staff seem to only have Oct 1st off for the holiday. So they should be back to work on Tuesday.

Same for us, been waiting since August 20 (39 days). We heard that someone who got DM2 on August 26 received the mail number and should receive it tomorrow.

It's a good news if they work next week. I look forward to get it by then.

My wife read a forum post and someone who got DM2 on September 12th (same as my wife) got their passport already. I can't for the life of me figure out how this works. Waiting sucks.

Yes. We typed up and printed that info on a separate sheet of paper.

Beijing answered one of my emails today. Here is what they sent me:

Please be advised that your application has been finalised and that you
will receive the visa(s), passport(s) and other documents by EMS in the
coming weeks to the mailing address on your file. Please be patient and
wait for the mail to arrive. Please note that if you are represented by
an agent it is our department's policy to use the agent's mailing
address for all official documents such as Medical Instructions and
Visa(s).

[...]
On behalf of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration, we extend
our best wishes to you and your family for a happy and prosperous life
in Canada.

This is interesting. I was listed as the representative for my wife (she is in China) - although as a family member not an agent. When we get to it, they wouldn't send her visa/passport to me would they ? I did send her address labels in Chinese.
Cheers,

The mailing address on our file is hers. She's the one who will get it; just hope it will be soon as we reached the 40 days.

I got the same info. In the QQ group she follows, we are the older ones! It looks like we really depend on people, no real operational process with SLO/SLA.

She received it! Five minutes ago (21:50; 9:50 Sunday in China)! We were online by video when it knocked at the door! Finally!

Awesome! And it's about time too. You guys waited way too long imo to get the passport back. Hopefully my wife's comes soon too.

7 months from paper sending to passport reception. I feel it is not too bad as I went there twice during this period. We plan to wait a couple of years before coming back to China but we will. Canada is a wide country having many wonderful places to visit ;D!

Hi ! Thanks for sharing your dates !

I am also sponsoring my Chinese husband from Qc, and I had no clear idea about CSQ delays and everything.
I sent my application on Sept 4, so I guess I can expect to wait for 6 months from now...

Thanks again,

Anne-Sophie

Actually, you should be faster than that. Between February and April, the waiting time for sponsorship approval was 100 days, now it's 65 or so. So, you should see it in 5 months. At least that's my guess.
