Hi Everyone,

As per guide, two child's IDs are required and one of them must have a photo. Examples are health insurance card or school records.
My child is a grade 1 student in Ontario now. OHIP card is photoless at this age and report/progress cards we have (from kindergarten and grade 1) don't mean any photos too.

What is implied to provide them with then?! Please help

Thank you

doesnt he/she has a passport?

Sure she does, but they suggest a passport as ID for under school age children:

>For a child under school age, identification such as:
>a passport page containing his or her photo and personal details

We sent them the copy of the passport + PR cards as a proof of photo IDs.

Contact the school admin, they do have a photo ID with joined date to current. (if you request for citizenship purpose they know how to prepare with a photo) for us they did it in a day.

I had a similar case. You do not need to write a letter.
The given examples of the IDs are just examples, and they apply whether under or school aged. Just give the passport.

Thanks a lot to everone that took part!

do we need to provide copies of Child Id if 1) they are under school age 2) already Canadian.
I have not found any section where they request Ids for Children.

I contacted the school admin and they issued me a couple of forms with my kids' photo on them.....one of them is called OSR
the school admin issue them on regular...so they know about it
other form is internal document
