hey so I have a question, if my children overstayed their visitors status, and I am a PR in canada and I would like to sponsor them.

1.Can I apply for a child sponsorship without them having a status ?

2. I was thinking maybe we will go to the states (so we leave canada) and then come back in in order to restore their status and then apply to sponsor them ?
but im scared will they let them in with me after they see they overstayed their stay last time ?

please help !

1. there is nothing stopping you from applying, however it can't be guaranteed the application wouldn't trigger a deeper investigation into the child's current status, potentially causing bigger issues.

2. when did the child's status expire? if it's within 90 days, then it would be best to apply for restoration of status along with a visitor's extension and get the applications in ASAP. doing a border run is riskier than applying online.

Hi I came to Canada on PR status with my daughter on visitor visa. Immediately after landing we applied for her PR under Family sponsorship. It is better for you to apply your child a PR before crossing the border because every time you will enter canada they will ask you if you already applied for yur child a PR and they will look for an evidence that shows you really applied for it.

On my case we crossed US 5 days before 6 months stayed of my daugther in Canada, but as I said we already applied for her PR and ECAS shows that time medical received. From the border we are sent in the Immigration office in the border they asked few questions and checked it online the application of my daugther and after that they issue another 6 months visitor stay for my daugther till we get her PR approved.

I suggest to start your child application and wait till it was received by CIC and have your file number before crossing border.

Your previous posts are all over the place. Some say you are a foreign worker, some say you are a PR in Canada that doesn't meet the RO, some say you are a PR out of Canada with a Canadian spouse.

Are you some kind of a consultant posting for information or what?

If not, you need to clarify what your actual situation is.
