Child benefit for child in visitor visa

Would like to know if I an eligible to apply for child benefit.
I am pr to canada and my 5 months old son live with me in canada. My son born in different country and came to canada on visitor visa.

Yes you can apply as long as your child lives with you and continues to live with you.

Hi,
We just received our child benefit which we applied in March 2022. Our child is also on a trv. Actually, it's the parents' status (meeting residency obligations) in Canada which determines whether child is eligible for child benefit. Of course both parents (caregivers) and child must be in Canada.
