Must you have worked in an area where you hold qualification on the same to validly claim work experience? e.g if you work as a teacher then are you expected to hold teaching qualifications? Can you for example be an administrator by qualification then end up as teacher thus claiming teaching experience?

yes u can but as long as u meet the 67points criteria, u should be fine.
